Do you have questions about the incentives you are hearing on-air during pledge drive? Below are some of the typical questions and answers.
What is a Gift Challenge?
A Challenge Gift is a large donation given by a donor in order to inspire others to give as generously. It is not at risk, and so if the ministry says that they’d like to receive, for example, 10 gifts in the next hour based on the generosity of (donor’s name) and they only get 8, the donor will still donate the money they said they would give.
What is a Matching Gift?
A Match Gift is also a large donation given by a donor in order to inspire others to give as generously. It is at risk, and so if the ministry says that they’d like to receive, for example, 10 gifts in the next hour based on the generosity of (donor’s name) and they only get 8, the donor doesn’t have to give the gift.

WayFM will contact you via email or phone if you have won a prize. You can call 866-457-9293 during pledge drive to find out for sure.
Compassion’s Child Survival Program FAQs
WayFM is partnering with Compassion to provide a mother and her child with care for 6 months when you donate $30 or more monthly. In addition, we have given the opportunity for our past supporters to provide care for a mother and child when they donate a gift of any amount through their Impact Partner Update or eNewsletter.
How will my monthly sponsorship be used?
Your gift will be used right away to continue to provide the ministry of WayFM. Donations allow us to run Christ-centered stations in your community and around the country.
What kind of care does the mother and her child include?
Benefits for mothers and babies include regular home visits and group activities. Church-based CSP specialists provide prenatal care, nutritious food and supplements, ongoing health care and vaccinations, infant survival training, education, encouragement, spiritual nurturing and income-generation opportunities.
What countries are included in Compassion’s Child Survival Programs?
The Child Survival Program provides safe, nurturing havens for mothers and their babies in Bangladesh, Bolivia, Burkino Faso, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Ghana, Haiti, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico, Peru, Philippines, Rwanda, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Thailand and Uganda. In 2014 we will open programs in Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.
Where can I get answers about Compassion’s financial integrity?
Will I get updates on the mother and her baby?
Since this is not a “direct sponsorship” of the mother and her baby as though you were going directly through Compassion, updates will not be available. Your gift will trigger a direct donor of Compassion to match the actual sponsorship and they will receive the updates.
If I donate $60 per month can I provide support for 1 year?
The thresh hold for additional months of support is $90 per month for the first 100 donors that reach it.
What about the mother’s other children? Can I help support the mother’s other kids?
Compassion has several programs that help other members of families.
How are these mothers and their children chosen for this program?
Compassion has such a presence in all the countries they do work in that there is an infrastructure in place to identify families and situations of particular need.

Does my single gift of $360 provide the support?
Yes. Since a single gift of $360 is equivalent to a monthly donation of $30 this will qualify for the support for 6 months.
