If you’ve ever found yourself in a season where life feels like a chaotic whirlwind—kids tugging on you, texts half-sent, and prayers feeling more like SOS signals—then welcome. You’re not alone. As a mom of two littles, I’ve learned firsthand how hard it is to relinquish control, how anxiety quietly sneaks in, and how faith can sometimes feel like it's hanging by a thread.

But I’ve also learned this: peace is possible, even here. And if you’re like me—struggling to trust God when the stakes feel high—here are three things to remember:

1. You Were Never Meant to Do This Alone

The pressure to hold everything together is heavy. Whether it's parenting, ministry, or just making it through the day—if you’re exhausted, it might be because you're believing the lie that it all depends on you.

I’ve been there. I once asked ChatGPT how the enemy might keep Christian women exhausted.(Read that whole blog by clicking here.) One answer was, “I’d convince her she’s the savior. That if she let's go, it’ll all fall apart.” And wow—how often have I lived like that?

But Psalm 127 reminds us, “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.” You are a co-laborer with God—not the foreman, not the architect, not the Savior. And when you trust Him with the blueprints, you start to rebuild peace.

2. When You’re Weary, Come Home to Jesus

Rest isn’t just physical. Some of us are emotionally, mentally, and spiritually bone-tired. Jesus says in Matthew 11:28, “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” I love that the word "cast" is literally an action verb. It's not passively trusting God with our stuff it's actively throwing it to Him.

I saw this in action when the flu hit my house while my mom and dad were visiting. I was so sick and trying to care for my daughter who was also up all through the night crying with fevers. Every night, my dad would take the 3 AM shift so I could sleep. It was hard for me to relinquish control to him but when I finally did, I rested so well because I trusted him. That’s the kind of rest God offers. He whispers, “I’ve got it. You can trust Me with what you’re holding."

But just like I argued with my dad over giving up control, we argue with God. We cling tight. We strategize. We hustle. And God gently says: “Let go. I’m trustworthy.”

3. Surrender Again (and Again) to the One Who Never Changes

Trusting God doesn’t mean the fears go away. It means we know where to take them.

Philippians 4:6–7 says, “Do not be anxious about anything… but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God… will guard your hearts.”

This isn’t a one-and-done thing. It’s a daily release of our fears. A slow surrender of every “what if” scenario. And when we do, we’re reminded of his faithfulness.

Even if your worst fears come true, friend, God is not done. He is still good. He is still working. And His peace can still be yours.
