How the Greatest Story in the World Applies to You This Christmas | Matthew West

Matthew West's original Christmas song "Unto Us" was inspired by this verse in Isaiah. Watch him perform the song live and talk about the story behind it.

"For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." (Isaiah 9:6 NLT)

Matthew says, "I love that this scripture doesn't just tell us that a child is born. It doesn't just tell us that a son is given. It says us who this gift is for. It isn't just for one individual. It's plural - US. All of us! So, with "Unto Us," I just wanted to write a song of celebration that my church could sing..." He talks more about writing the verses and the inspiration behind the song in this video below. [ts_fab authorid="83" tabs="bio,latest_posts"]
