The song was actually inspired by my friend in Iraq who runs an organization called Preemptive Love. So, “Float” was a response to an email that he sent me. He sent me an email that the village next to him, where he lives with his family, was bombed by ISIS… So for me when I don’t have words, often times I’ll turn to song… And so I thought, what if I could give him and his family a song that would make them dance and remind them that they’re there for a purpose and there’s nothing that’s going to bring them down. - Jon Foreman
